The History of Volkspeed
Volkspeed originated as a motor racing team in the mid 70's with Chris Taylor as driver and Trevor Grist as development engineer.
The team competed very successfully in Formula Vee for several years (ultimately winning the British Championship) and Chris and Trevor decided to go into business offering their extensive vehicle engineering skills to local motorists.
Volkspeed Engineering was formed as a partnership in 1979, initially trading from a site in Banstead but moving to the present site - Ashtead - in 1984.
Having started out as Volkswagen specialists, the firm rapidly extended its capability to encompass all makes and has been providing a comprehensive service to local motorists ever since.
